The Loose will be performing on Spin FM’s Fully Charged with Ryan & Tracy on Friday morning at about 9.30am. The band will perform a new song from their forthcoming album which is due for release on Oct 8th. Ryan & Tracy will also be giving new single ‘The Man’ it’s first spin on Spin. New Single ‘The Man’ released Sept 24th

The first single to be taken from the forthcoming Republic of Loose album is ‘The Man’. Recorded in Baltimore over the summer ‘The Man’ will be released on iTunes and all other download platforms on September 24th with the new album penciled in for October 8th. The artwork for the single was done by US illustrator Ray Frenden. You can check his shit out at www.frenden.com Stay tuned for more news on the new album.

In support of their new album due for release in October, the Loose are to take up a four month live residency at the Academy – one Friday each month from September through to December. These will be the bands only Dublin dates of 2010.
Tickets priced €22.50 including booking fee go on sale Tuesday 20th July at 9am.

Republic of Loose Go Fourth!!!

Republic of Loose have just returned from Baltimore in the US where they have been recording their fourth album. When asked what kind of music the band were listening to and would be referencing on this album, Mik Pyro replied “Mostly club. Blaqstarr is great. Also DJ Booman, Rod Lee, DJ Scotty B, Tittsworth, K-Swift R.I.P.,Murder Mark, and also people like Dwizz and Emynd and Dj Sega. We have also been influenced of late by Washington Go- Go music, particularly of the latter Slow Bounce variety, bands like Total Control Band and Game- Ova band. Kuduro from Lisbon and Angola, early Miami bass, Funk Carioca, and the great Kid 606. also people like John Tejada from Europe and traditional Irish music”.
The as yet untitled album is loosely scheduled for a September release. Stay tuned for more details…

Loose contribute track to new Styles P album

Hip-Hop artist Styles P has penned his first novel ‘Invincible’. Published by One World/Ballantine to rave reviews in the US, the novel is accompanied by a soundtrack album. Republic of Loose have contributed a new song for the soundtrack entitled ‘Late’.
